Located in San Antonio from day one, Barber and Barber was originally founded in 1998 (under the name Barber Associates) by Robert D Barber, P.E. as a freelance consulting business in the solid waste industry. The next year, Robert incorporated the business and renamed it Barber & Barber Associates when his wife, Carolyn, assumed the role of President & CEO. Since its inception in 1998, Robert and Carolyn have devoted themselves to high quality work and personal attention to all clients, which has led to consistent growth.

In 2005, BBA extended into a new market by hiring Nathan Barber, a professional engineer with experience in process and specialty engineering. This acquisition diversified BBA’s service offerings to clients and strengthened our contribution to the engineering industry.

Also in 2005, Barber & Barber developed PRECEPT, an innovative and powerful task tracking solution built upon the robust and familiar Microsoft Outlook platform.  Since then, PRECEPT has been implemented in facilities across the nation.

In 2010, in response to market needs for such a tool, Barber & Barber developed Opgrade, a first-of-its-kind Capital Allocation Decision tool that allows decision-makers to forecast the effects that capital invenstment decisions will have on revenues.  The response to this tool has been fantastic and is opening doors for our services to be implemented across the globe.
